have I got a deal for you!

Are you the kind of person that goes to a networking event to sell, sell, sell & wonder why no one wants to talk with you? The fact is in the question! networking is about the give & take not the take only. You may have the best tool in town but get to know folks first before you try to sell them to death. People want to to be able to like-know-trust you before they buy from you. taking your time to build a strong network that believes in you will turn into dollars soon enough. I would do the following before you start the pitch. Go to many events & get to know folks first. Leave your pitch at the door. Maybe even leave your business cards at home & just say you forgot them. Start all conversation with the words “What do you do”. Let the folks you know give you the pitch & learn from them on what not to do. Just think about all the connections you will make and lots of them will be willing to meet and learn about you after.

Remember in business the one who survives is the one with all the connections!
