Two great thoughts from Jennifer!

Let’s Party…It’s Mardi Gras!!!

By Jennifer Kurtz

The crowds, the excitement, the fun! Just a few of the things that make Mardi Gras the ultimate party. It’s very easy to get caught up in it all. However, this may lead to overdoing it. The same goes for networking. Here’s the picture. You walk into a networking event, it’s a crowded room with tons of people all looking for the same thing… Business connections that will put them on the map. It’s the possibility of meeting that one person who will provide you with the tools to take your business from being one of thousands, and becoming the business to work with. As eager as you may be, it’s important not to come across too strongly. Compare it to a first date. We all want to be on our best behavior and make a good impression. With that initial connection made, it can be easy to push forward and move too fast. Slow down, and take a deep breath. You know what you want to say. Think about the message you’d like to leave behind, after you exchange business cards. Ready…Go get ’em!

Happy Valentine’s Day

By Jennifer Kurtz

It’s that time of year…love is in the air. Now is the time to show that special someone how much they mean to you. The same goes for your networking circle. No, I don’t mean that you should send them flowers and candy, though they may appreciate it. Simply speaking, there is a great deal of similarity between our personal relationships and our business relationships. Each relationship requires work, time and energy. It’s important that we invest ourselves in these relationships because the more you give, the more you will receive. It’s a win-win for everyone. Big things can happen when you give of yourself. Try it and see what happens…
