DE advertising: The Target is?

That is a great question! You have started a business & you know your service inside & out but who is your customer? You may have a good idea of who they are but they don’t know you. You really have to ask the question: How do I find your customers? Let’s take a stronger look at what you do & the reason for your business. If your business is in pet sitting, then you are looking for folks that are in the middle to higher income ideas. They can afford to have someone take care of their pets while they are at work daily. Maybe they are taking a vacation & need someone to take care of their pets as well. The point is they have the extra cash to budget for this. Pets are a luxury that not everyone can afford.

Now you have an idea of who you’re looking for now where do you find these folks. Pet shops are a good place to start. Network with the owner to figure out how to work together. Maybe you put an ad in the paper together or write a weekly blog. Just something to promote each other’s business. Also check out all other kinds of services that you can work with that support the pet industry. What you will find is many folks you can refer & they will refer you as well. The thing to do is to like, know & trust each person you are working with. This idea is local small business supporting each other with referrals. You hit the market by looking at your service in conjunction with services that relate to you business. Best rule of thumb is to keep it simple & easy for folks to understand you & then they can spread the world about what you do.

Not all business is as easy to sell as a pet sitting business but the process is always the same: Look at your product or service, Ask who would use your service (demographics), Ask what other related businesses are out there that you could Like, Know & Trust, Then work together in your marketing goals. This will bring you closer to where your target should be.
