How to rate your network group!

Do you know if your network group is right for you? That is the question. We are told the way of the businessperson in to day’s world is the group. It may be an on line or a network group. Do you know if it is worth being a part? Have you made any money? Dose having the groups logo on your site or business card give you credibility? Can you measure your value to the group & what you have received? These are the questions we have & the ones we need to ask.

If you are paying to be a member of a group you should be able to make your money with in the year from the group in some way. May be the groups dose a good job with training you on things you need to do better. Elevator speech, Expo presentation, Marketing idea & things of this nature might be part of way you joined the group, if they work and you have made money because of it then yes it was a smart choice. If you learn nothing & no one communicates with you then time to move on. Did you give referrals & get referrals that made you money? If so another reason to keep your membership alive. If however it is the same face same place talking about the same things then get out now! You should be able to show in some way that it pays to be a member.

Ever been to a meeting when the only person that makes money is the folk that run the group? It would seem they get theirs & you get to watch. It dose not make sense dose it. When you talk to them they say you need to keep on it but remember part of your membership is to bring in referrals. They say if you don’t you can’t be a member. But are they doing the same for you? Do they ever give you a referral? Or is it the group puts it out there. You need to look at your network group objectivity. All network groups are for the most part a business to. They survive of the sponsorships & members; with out them there would be no group.

Do you know what type of group you joined? If you are in the event business & the group is a human resource services group, then you did not do your homework. Visit the group & look at the membership. That will tell you if it makes sense to join. Don’t let them push you into joining a no win idea. Just because the main person is popular dose not mean the group will be popular with you.

Here are a few questions to think about:

What kind of network group are you looking for?

What businesses do you work best with?

Is the network group you are a member of work for you?

Is your network group a waste of time?

What are your comments? We would like to know.
