Getting in with East coast business

On the east coast business is conducted about the same as anywhere else but just like other places there are some differences. Trust is the first thing you have to overcome. Folks tend to keep to themselves more on the coast & tend not to be as out going as the Midwest. The art of building that trust comes to mind. First you have to be consistence with the way you do things. Don’t play games, you will get noticed. New England is a simple way of life, direct and to the point. There is some small talk but for the most part that is after the deal is done. Have all the facts & show the details. Most folks have a hard time with letting go of their hard earned cash so you need to re-enforce your message. As you build trust then you get introduced to the world around you. Like, Know, Trust is most important in these situations. On the coast you are breaking down barriers & building bridges. This of course gives more business in the long run. Remember not all business is based on cash but an exchange of value. That kind of relationship will grow with time.

You could say this is true of any area of the country & you could be right. The thing is when you go down south they pride themselves on their hospitality & in Ohio it is all about being social. The west coast has another set of values. We are talking about the locals & how they relate to their community. That is where business is done. You need to know how they operate. The East Coast is the doorway to the U.S.A. so they need to be on their guard more than the rest of us. They encounter all kinds of culture & life ideas. The east coast is where our melting pot begins as it is said.

Back to the point, East coast business ideas start with trust. Get to really know the folks in the area & build your bridges. Just like in social media give more than you receive & have charity. The mind set is on a trade of value not the trade of a single dollar. I do not pretend to say this is a blanket statement & only applies to the East coast but it is a strong part of what & who they are. Please add your 2 cents below as the idea is to spark a train or thought!
