Halloween and open studio weekend in Boston’s metro area

Well it’s Halloween and this weekend in the Boston Metro we welcome several area open arts studios . Take you pick or may be visit more than one. South Boston Open Studios ,Newton Open Studios ,Roslindale Open Studios ,Amesbury Open Studios along with Waltham’s celebrating 35 continuous years .
Tonight Halloween what better way to spend Halloween Evening than in a spookified Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation brought to you courtesy of Dr. Grymm, Modvic, Ajar Communications?

The Museum encourages you to dress in you favorite steampunk outfit and join us from 6:30 to 10:30 as we open “Steampunk Form & Function II, Another Exhibition of Innovation, Invention and Gadgetry.” Tonight in addition to our new exhibit, you will discover a museum transformed into a haunted mill spectacular. Lights, sounds and live entertainment will make our main galleries a place to behold and beware. Finally, join us in the Jackson Room for the Massachusetts premier of “Steam Driven,” a wonderful new steampunk movie featuring The Red Fork Empire, the Emperor, Miss Kitty, Dr. Grymm and others. Thematic refreshments will be served. Admission to the Halloween extravaganza is $10.00 per adult, $5.00 per child, student or senior, and free for children under 6, active and retired US Military, and Charles River Museum Members.

WMAA’s 35th Annual Open Studios: WMAA is one of Greater Boston’s oldest artists’ communities, with more than 70 artists working in a wide range of media, including sculpture, glass, printmaking, painting, textiles, photography, woodworking, film, video and much more. Lincoln Studios, a newer artists’ community that occupies the old Jordan’s furniture building at 289 Moody Street, houses more than a dozen artists, a gallery space, classroom space, and an art supply store.

November 5-6, 2011 The WMAA and Open Studios is located at 144 Moody Street, Waltham, MA 02453 and is easily accessible by car, public transportation, and the Charles River Bike Path.
