Holidays Were a Success in 2010!

Dangerous Inc.
Has been very involved with charity work this past December 2010. From going out to finding sponsors, setting up B.U.C.S. P.A.D. & Under the dangerous Mistletoe, Taking pictures of folks wrapping gifts at Macy’s for charity to promoting on social media all related events it has been a very busy month. We believe that we have been a part of many successful happenings & our hard work to help others is paying off. We Would like to share with all of you the following thank you note we received from “Christians Over Coming Cancer (COC)” one of our main charities we believe in & support. We added all the sponsors that helped COC at the bottom as away to say thank you for their support as well.

This was a very successful fundraising month for
Christians Overcoming Cancer

Having raised close to $10,000 in the month of December, COC can declare that we had a very successful fundraising month thanks to businesses, networking groups and individuals supporting and volunteering at different events.

COC started the month wrapping presents for Macy’s at Kingsdale and at Easton. After starting off the wrapping slow, only raising $34, the additional days proved themselves important to where COC raised almost $2,200 to purchase presents for the children battling cancer. The second weekend in December COC helped with BUCSPAD – Butter’s Bar Ugly Christmas Sweater Party And Dance-a-thon. This was the event where COC was selected to be the recipient of monies raised from the Dance-a-thon and Silent Auction as well as a portion of monies raised from the bar. Thanks to David Kurtz of Dangerous Events.Com for taking the lead and coordinating this event. COC President, Mary Jenkins, showed her dance floor skills for 12 hrs. The Columbus Dance Centre were the successful winners of the Dance-a-thon, having a combined team that raised the most money. During the evening we enjoyed a visit from Mike Merle of Social Media Television who interviewed both Dave and Mary then posted the video on Facebook. The evening also included a visit from WBNS Channel 10 and we even got their reporter Danielle Ellias on the dance floor.

The event as a whole raised almost $2,500 which was also used to provide Wish List items for children whose family has been touched by cancer. We appreciate the almost 300 people who came out to support this event and value the support of the many businesses, networking groups and individuals who helped make the event a success!

With the third weekend of December came the 4th Annual Mount Leadership Basketball Tournament for 6th grade boys coordinated by childhood cancer overcomer Michael Hunter. Six teams came from around central with two goals… 1.) Win the tournament and 2.) Help raise money to help those who suffer financially while in active treatment for cancer. With a $2,500 grant from the Davis Foundation, this event raised almost $5,000 to help fund the Dollars Allocated To Assist (DATA) Program and purchase presents for the 3rd Annual Cancer Can’t Stop Christmas Children’s Celebration.

All fundraising activities led up to COCs main event for families… the 3rd Annual Cancer Can’t Stop Christmas Children’s Celebration (CCSC). CCSC is our annual celebration designed to spread joy to the children of families whose lives have been touched by cancer. Throughout the year families battle this horrible disease then when Christmas time arrives they are so emotionally drained that the joy of the holiday is hard to grasp… CCSC is COCs response to this situation.

With combined funds of almost $10,000, COC created a custom designed Winter Wonderland for families in active treatment, and for those whose loved one in active treatment has passed since last Christmas. A catered child-favorite dinner was prepared and served. After eating the children had their faces painted and made personalized Christmas stockings for them to use next year. They even were visited from Santa and Mrs. Claus who were bearing special presents from the children’s special Wish List.

The event was a total success. Through the tears, laughter and stares in awe COC was able to host a successful event and serve to over 100 people helping everyone understand that….
